Yogi government breaks rules to give bungalow to Rajnath Singh’s son, Shivpal Yadav? High court asks for an answer

The petition said that the four people who were given bungalows, including Pankaj Singh and Shivpal Yadav, are not eligible according to the rule. They should have been allotted Type 6 bungalows.

The BJP government led by Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh has been accused of ignoring the rules in the allocation of bungalows. In this regard, the High Court has sought an answer from the Yogi government in this matter. The High Court has sought answers from the UP government regarding the allotment of bungalows to MLAs Shivpal Singh Yadav (Mulayam Singh Yadav’s brother), Pankaj Singh (Rajnath Singh’s son) and Ashish Patel and Neeraj Vora. In this regard, the court has asked the government lawyer to get instructions from the state government within a week. Significantly, a petition was filed alleging that the rules in the allotment of bungalows were ignored.

The order was issued by a bench of Justice Pankaj Kumar Jaiswal and Justice Irshad Ali on a PIL by local Motilal Yadav. The petition said that four MLAs, including Shivpal Yadav and Pankaj Singh, were allotted bungalows, ignoring the rules. According to the petition, Shivpal Yadav, MLA from Jaswant Nagar, has been given on bungalow number 6, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg. It was earlier allotted to the former Chief Minister of the state, Mayawati. Significantly, this bungalow also houses the office of Shivpal Yadav’s Progressive Socialist Party (PSP).

Pankaj Singh (MLA from Noida), son of the country’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, has been allotted to A4 Dilkusha Garden Pankaj Singh. Whereas, Legislative Council member Ashish Patel has been allotted Bungalow No. 1A, Mall Avenue. This bungalow was earlier allotted to former CM ND Tiwari. Apna Dal office operates here. Whereas, Dr Neeraj Bora, MLA from Lucknow North has been given the bungalow of A6 Dilkusha Colony.

It has been argued in the petition that the 4 people who have been allotted the bungalow are all MLAs, in such a situation, these people are not eligible to live in these bungalows. For these, there are Type 6 bungalows, allotted to MLAs. The bungalows where yo people are living, are allotted to ministers only.
