Bollywood actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar joined Shiv Sena on Tuesday. He took party membership in the presence of party president and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. During this, Uddhav’s wife was also present.
After becoming a part of the party, Urmila paid tribute to the image of the late Balasaheb Thackeray, who had the image of the father of the Shiv Sena and a radical right-wing leader.
Earlier, media reports were quoted by Harshal Pradhan, a close aide of the Maharashtra CM, as saying that Urmila’s name was sent by Shiv Sena to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari for nomination to the Legislative Council from Governor Kota.
Urmila was earlier in the Congress. He also contested the 2019 Lok Sabha election on a party ticket (from North Mumbai seat). Unfortunately, he had to face defeat.
In fact, Urmila also accused the Congress workers of not cooperating. He said goodbye to the party after this on September 10, 2019. Let me tell you that there is currently a government of Mahavikas Aghadi in Maharashtra, which is a coalition of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress.
