Chandigarh Manohar Lal Khattar will take oath as Chief Minister and Dushyant Chautala as Deputy Chief Minister at 2:15 pm on Sunday. Earlier on Saturday, Khattar was chosen as the leader of the BJP Legislature Party in a meeting held at a guest house in Chandigarh. After this, Khattar and Dushyant Chautala met Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya to stake claim to form the government. Khattar is the first non-Congress leader to become Chief Minister for the second consecutive time in Haryana’s 53-year history.

Union minister and observer Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Anil Vij and Kanwar Pal Singh proposed Manohar Lal Khattar’s name. All the legislators agreed on his name. In this way, Khattar was elected the leader of the BJP Legislature Party of Haryana. Meanwhile, Hooda took a dig at the JJP for supporting the BJP. He said, “Vote someone, support someone else. Bansi Lal and Hooda of Congress were able to form the government for two consecutive terms
, the first assembly was formed in 1966 in Haryana. In 1968, Bansi Lal of Congress was in power twice (1968–75). After this Bhupinder Singh Hooda was the Chief Minister from 2004-09 and 2009-14.

BJP will not seek support from Kanda,
BJP in-charge of Haryana BJP Anil Jain and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad have said that the party will no longer seek support from Haryana Lokhit Party MLA Gopal Kanda. Earlier, MLA Anil Vij has also said not to seek support from Kanda.

Both parties together decided to form government in the state: Shah

Earlier in the joint press conference of BJP and JJP on Friday night, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had said that the two parties have decided to form a government in the state together. The Chief Minister will be from the BJP while the Deputy Chief Minister will be from the JJP. Many independents have also supported. The people of Haryana have taken this decision after looking at the sentiments of the mandate they have given.

It is necessary to form a permanent government for the benefit of the state: Chautala

Dushyant Chautala of JJP had said that it was necessary for both parties to come together to form the government. It was necessary to form a permanent government for the interest of the state. Since Chaudhary Devi Lal’s time, we have gone together. This alliance was agreed upon by many party leaders. To take the state forward, we have to walk together.

We contested in state interest: Chautala

Earlier, JJP leader Dushyant Chautala had said- As party president, I and the party officials together have decided that we can form a government with the support we give to some of our demands. We are not against anyone, Rather contested in the interest of the state. Our leaders have defeated many veterans of BJP and Congress. The 15% votes our party JJP has got is a blessing of the public.

Chautala had said – If BJP or Congress forms the government of anyone with our cooperation, it will be in the interest of the state itself. The subjects we contested in the state are our main issues. The party that forms the government will also have to respect us. Many of our colleagues have also maintained that a strong government should be formed with the BJP. We are positive to take Haryana forward and promote the youth.
