Maharashtra: Governor sent BJP to form government, Congress sent MLAs out


Mumbai, Agency / Bureau. Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has sent an invitation to BJP Legislature Party leader Devendra Fadnavis to form the government. Barely four hours before the end of the state assembly’s term at midnight on Saturday, the governor sent a letter to the caretaker chief minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis asking whether his party was keen to form a government in Maharashtra.

At the same time, BJP has said that after the core committee meeting on Sunday, it will tell the governor whether she wants to form the government or not. BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar said that in the meeting of the core committee of the party, it will be decided what will be the attitude of the BJP towards forming the government. The term of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly expired on November 9 and the ongoing deadlock over the BJP-Shiv Sena government formation has not ended.
