Prayagraj, J.N.N. Annadata are facing double whammy. One is the crop collapse due to hail-rains, the other is ignored in verification for compensation. The farmers of Meja and Koraon areas of Yamunapar alleged that the lekhpals deployed for verification are being arbitrary. Not doing the spot, doing verification at one place.
Twice a week ago, hailstorms and thunderstorms destroyed farmers’ crops
In the district twice a week, hailstorms and thunderstorms have destroyed crops on a large scale. Yamunaapar’s Karchana, Meja, Koraon and Bara regions have suffered much damage. Especially pulses and oilseed crops have been damaged. The wheat crop has also been damaged. Wheat, mustard, gram and peas as well as vegetable crops have also suffered heavy losses in Soraon, Handia and Phulpur of Gangapar. Potato has suffered more. In view of this, on Sunday, the Minister in charge of the district, Dr. Mahendra Singh visited the affected villages in Yamunapar. Necessary guidelines for compensation were given after meeting with officers in the circuit house. The cabinet minister had given strict instructions that no affected farmers should be released. He also warned of stern action on the flaw in the verification report.
Farmer Pranav Narayan Pandey, a resident of Bhagesar of Koraon, told that the revenue workers should sit here and keep a list of the favorites. Shyambali Singh of Badour and KK Mishra of Piparhata of Koundhiyara told that they have complained to SDM Karchana and DM.
Give application in blocks
