Lucknow : Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has questioned Governor Anandiben Patel’s claims of improving law and order in the state. He asked that if law and order was improved, then why was section 144 implemented in the capital? The Central Government is bent on violating civil liberties through Section 144. This is a violation of both the Supreme Court and the Constitution. The governor should call for a reply from the state government on this.
Akhilesh said in the statement released that the BJP is cutting the days of its government in contradictions. He has no vision of development or future. The governor sees the law and order situation improving in the state. The reality is that the government is not able to move a step without Section 144.
All this is happening when the Supreme Court has recently remarked that invoking Section 144 unnecessarily is an attack on civil liberties. It cannot be used to suppress opposing notes for an indefinite period of time. He raised many questions on the central and state government.
