New Delhi, Jagran Correspondent. People who have been protesting against the CAA and NRC in Shaheen Bagh for almost three months, kept their new demands after press conference late on Friday night. The protesters demanded the withdrawal of CAA, NRC and NPR. Along with this, it also demanded that the Muslim people who have been arrested in the recent riots should be released. The protesters accused the central government that innocent people were also being arrested and accused of rioting. The protesters said that more than two thousand people have been arrested. While people were not even involved in the riots.
Here, before the violence in Delhi, all the petitions filed in the High Court against the provocative speeches made by the leaders of different parties will be heard on 20 March. On March 16, the High Court issued notice on the petition filed on Wednesday and sought reply from Delhi Police and AAP government by March 16.
The petition filed by Deepak Madan has said that a case should be registered against SIT by Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Salman Khurshid and BJP Union Minister Anurag Thakur, local leader Kapil Mishra. Apart from this, the petition has demanded that those who are responsible for the violence should be attached to their property to compensate for the loss.
Earlier, CPI (M) leader Brinda Karat had also filed a petition and many other petitions were also filed in the High Court. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta asked the bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice C Hari Shankar to be given some time to complete the investigation. On this, the bench fixed March 20 for hearing all the cases. The High Court has issued a notice asking the Delhi Police and the AAP government to file a reply in this case by 16 March.
