BJP MLA’s daughter-in-law accused of harassment, goes on hunger strike


Shahjahanpur: In Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur district, his daughter-in-law went on a hunger strike at the Collectorate complex on Wednesday against alleged harassment by a BJP MLA. He alleged that the administration had not registered a case of harassment against the MLA even after 24 hours. In a memorandum sent to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath through the district magistrate, Sarita, daughter-in-law of BJP MLA Roshan Lal Verma of Tilhar constituency, said she had staged a one-day dharna on Tuesday, even after that. The administration has not taken any action, after which she is on a hunger strike today, Wednesday.

The husband died 2 years ago
In a letter to the Chief Minister, Sarita said that she had sent a memorandum through the Municipal Magistrate on Tuesday, on which no action was taken. At the same time, under the pressure of MLA Roshan Lal Verma, Naib Tehsildar Tilhar passed a unilateral order without issuing summons after his case was locked. Sarita has said that she is constantly being harassed by the MLA. Sarita is the second wife of Vinod Verma, son of BJP MLA Roshanlal Verma from Tilhar. Her husband died two years ago. Sarita alleges that MLA Roshan Lal Verma is not giving her a share in the property in her husband’s name and is constantly harassing her. Sarita alleges that her brother was threatened by the MLA over the phone and sent to jail and then to Khudaganj police station. False lawsuit was filed against her brother and father under the Scheduled Castes / Tribes Act. Sarita is on a hunger strike today (Wednesday) over the same issue.
